Post-colonialism

As I reflect on some new kind of conversations I am struck that the mind that maintains a colonial perspective also maintains a colonial God who imparts a colonial imperative.

From dictionary.com:

colonialism
n : exploitation by a stronger country of weaker one; the use of the weaker country's resources to strengthen and enrich the stronger country

imperative
adj.
1. Expressing a command...

Personally I am too stupid to get the whole "emergent" and "post modern" thing. It seems to me too much like new wine wrapped up in the old colonial wineskin.

if you catch my drift ....

sounds cool... I like Brian as he helped me escape evangecalism and his books gave me language and ideas to form my own theology and the confidence to do it... I also connect with the man as we had a few conversations face to face a few years back and we share some hard personal experiences in common... I can relate to the way he says things as I've been going through a similar position...

I know he now has enough controversy for folks to have a caracture image of him and that can't be helped... I know I do of other authors who are talked about...

Try and find the path through the woods which leads beyond the emergent bog (that's right....bog).
Follow the woodland creatures who can talk but who choose not to gather round the bog and discuss colonial ways of infilll while they sink lower into it. Hey, I can write provocatively can't I Dangermouse?
Onward into Christ in me!
Best. Bolty.
